I find it easier to import as a TIF sequence in AE as I tend to render in layers and like the control!!

AE's good with PS too

Then bounce out and edit the scenes in AVID, as I find it easier than Premier

so many programs and so little room in my brain. I'm trying to keep the computers clean. I just completely stripped the laptop down to office, corel, photo shop and final draft, Maya's gone and only lives on the PC.

I figure the PC can handle editing, compositing, 3D, rendering, ect, the laptop can do texture edits and graphics, the wacom is great for that.

you used nurbs for this, and the plan is to convert to polys later?

yes you?? user added image Seems polys all round (uumm. didn't mean it to be a pun). What's wrong with sub d s? it seems to me a sub d primative and poly proxy would be a simple way to do It seems nurbs are completely no go?!

anyway, we haven't seen an update for a while?user added image

On my case now!

The reason why I have done it all in ploys is cos I just feel that I am more comfortable with them. I don't know sub'ds well enough to be as efficient with them, and with company's rejecting me left right and center (Free Radical Design and Blue 52 this morning) I think time is of the essence.

I had a bit of mental block where all I saw what a mess every time I looked at my reference images but I think that's going so you should have an update this evening.

Sorry to hear about the jobs Tim, kep your chin up. I think the stuff you're doing is pretty good so far, and I liked your showreel. I don't think that there is any problem with you modelling in polys, especially if thats what you feel the most comfotable with using. Theres no rush to be amazing at all techniques straight away, I think its good that you are concentrating on getting good at what you do know, and gradually using your knowledge to move into sub-d's and nurbs.

Best of luck with the rest of job applications, I'm sure you'll get something great come up, you've certainly got the determination!

Hey there Tim,

Your showreel's looking really good, I love the opening flowers at the start. Sorry to hear of more disapointment on the job front, don't let it get you down.

Looking forward to seeing updates on your Star Destroyer.

Take it easy,

Mat.

gster123:- Cheers, I was just looking for something a bit simple just to show the models of.

happymat27:- Just goto this link and following the instructions, it you will have to download a program to send your video to them and then they will review it (about a day for mine). Then you check back on you upload page and when it says Live there will be a link to your stuff. Job done
