modeling a sunflower

I'm just about to start modeling a sunflower. Can anyone suggest any tips about the best way to approach creating the leaves. Thanks!

i would use nurbs
eith use a plane an tweak cv an use bend deformers
or
draw curves an use boundary

just duplicate to populate the flower an indivadulay tweak petals after so it doesnt look so fake


Now at SMU doing BSc 3D Computer Animation so its hard to get on here
