Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Are you going to make a shot from Darth Vader's TEI fighter?
And how did you make the TEI's laser (the green ones)?

Hope you don't mind these questions...

PS: Once you have finished this project, are you going to make an other space fight of your own using the models?
Anyway, the stuff is looking good!

Got to have Darth in it

The lasers are really stretched out spheres lambert white with ambient turned full up, then went into shader glow att and played with the glow and halo ( which is green)

Dont know how long this project will take me but next is either hoth battle or dinosaurs!

How much time did you spend on this one?

EDIT: I have a questions: How are you going to make realistic looking explosions and damage models?

This model took about 5 hours, but i used some bits from the normal TIE models plus the textures where allready done thew explosions are gonna be last thing i do cause i dont have a lot of experience with them ...yet

whats the easiest way of creating convaluted pipes in maya, is it just a case keeping trying with a wobbly profile curve and extruding?

Compared to the movie, this is too dark. You should be able to say all of the TIE driver's "face".

Yes, there should be a little more lighting on the helmet. The rest looks awesome!
