Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 1
This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Maya recovery

OK here is the deal. I was modeling while my room mate pull my PC cable and my pc shut down. I did not save my work... Is there some recovery i asked my 3DsmAX friend and he said that in MAx there is so in maya must be too ??

do you have any files in the temp folder? I know if you kill maya on linux it saves before it does.

No i've searched ... Ok here is the deal ... i remodel it ... But i still want to know is there any plugin for backuping models or recover... or for autosave ?

Maya has an incremental save feature in the save as option menu box.

With regards to losing files, if its an internal error usually maya will save it as a .ma file to your local temp folder, and is usually dated along with a time recorded too.

As for your cable being pulled, its kind of like a power cut so its highly unlikely your work will have saved.

As Jay said just switch on incremental save.
