My Depression

Well my stalker caught up with me today...yes..depression. I suffer from it...dont take meds though..I think they are worse than the disease. However...whilst brooding on the way home I had a good idea (I think) for a future project.

A model of myself (2 actually)...one with me under clear ice dressed in bright clothes...with my hands on the underneath of the ice looking skyward.

On the ice in the swirling snow is me..again..this time dressed in black or really dark grey looking down at my bright copy.

The bright one isnt in distress...but has a look of confusion in its character. The dark one mirrors the bright one...in effect telling the viewer that I am confused. The bright part of me wants to know why the dark is sad..the sad wants to know why the bright is trapped.

What do you guys reckon.....if its worth it I will do a storyboard for the future.

cheers bullet

Wow, bullet, that sounds like a really powerful image. I think art can be cathartic that way. I'm really sorry to hear that you suffer from depression. I think it can be relatively common, but that doesn't make it any less harsh. I myself suffered from depression for a few years, but I am very fortunate to have passed through it and am standing on the other side.

I wish you all the best in this project and fighting through the tough times.

Thanks guys...glad to hear you have it under control stwert. Most of the time I have it in check...every now and then it resurfaces..I guess you just have to grin and bear it. I have friends (about 4 now I think) who didnt make it...sadly they took their lives and are no longer here. I have tried meds and things but I couldnt keep taking them...they were horrible.

LOL like the analogy dave...quite true.

Yeh stwert I thought it was a powerful image...I might whack it in a storyboard. I find that when I get depressed the best therapy for me is drawing or writing strangely enough.

Well its a new day and I feel a bit better...carry on.

Thanks again guys

cheers bullet
