- Maya Personal Learning edition - free

- Maya complete packages are available with learning material at:
https://www.alias.com/eng/purchase/pr...ty_packs.shtml - about $2200

or go to college/university to study 3D and you can buy Maya Unlimited (full version but not for commercial use, more for learning and building a portfolio) for around £370 (whatever that is in dollars, I'm guessing at ~$550)

Examples of bTraffic - a traffic animation tool for Maya
bFlocking - a tool for Maya 8.5+ to generate flocking and swarming behaviours

Just to correct you, there is no need to study 3D, unless they have changed it.

I was under the impression that you needed verification from the course you are on/college you are studying at so that you can buy it - I stand corrected user added image

What places sell unlimited as a student version that dont need verification then?

You do need verification of student status, but you do NOT have to be studying 3D. I got a student license of Maya 5.0, and I'm studying Software Engineering.

What kind of error are you getting? I had trouble installing the PLE edition at first. It turned out my Norton Antivirus kept locking it up.
