Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

I don't know about any easy tutorials on this, but I prefer to use polygons.

Hi,

Yep, I also prefer to work with poly's (then SubD for animating and rendering).

Check out this tut (its for 3ds Max but easily transferable to Maya..this is a very, very popular tut as the technique is excellent.) Try to follow all the steps, skipping them may undermine the success of the finished mesh.

Hi Epiphone,

there is a "Character Modelling Tutorial" by Antony Ward here... -->
https://www.ant-online.co.uk/Main/Startup.htm

he once posted it on the forum, but I can't find it anymore... some threads seems to have dissapeared... this was the metod I started out with in last month's challenge, however it teased me a bit... and I got a bit p..... and dropped the tutorials and made a parachute free jump out in the Maya limbo with CPS...
you can see a bit of the process on page 2 here... -->
https://forums.simplymaya.com/showthr...&threadid=4910

I just pulled and dragged some vertices... extruded some faces and edges... used the split polygon tool alot... etc...

I don't know if it will help you... but you can try to do the same... user added image

regards
