Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Just baked a simple occlusion on the track at the moment might just put a dirt texture on it then play around with a occlustion map to take of dirt...............dave

Edit:have to find a good reference shot of the tread to see how it was made most of the ones around now have road tread witch is not the same as this

Aye. Your texturing has stepped up a division Dave, if not two. The inverted occlusion thing for the dirt is a nice touch.... The dirt in the treads and wheels looks great.

Thanks Pixal, Rick and Ben
Trying not to put to much ware on it as I would have thought that Shermans going to France (thats were my scene will be set) would have had a paint job before departing England. The occlution dirt thing does give a good starting point still have some seams to fix.
Rick could I please use your gerry can I still have to model some US cans and ammo boxes might have to model some of the tank crewuser added image, just some little bits done you can hardly see them..............dave

Funny though dave...all the jerry cans I remember and still had...up to a few years ago were based on the German version.
