Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

blobby surfaces inheriting texture color -TUTORIAL

Hi everyone!

This is something te one or the other stumbled across, so I did some "research" and here is the answer.
The question was "How can blobby surfaces inherit the texture you plugged in an emitter (like hw-particles do).

After you set everything up (particles: add attr colorPP and set render type to "blobbies" ; emit from object: emiiter type "surface", in texture emission attrs check "inherit color" and plug your texture into particle color.)

ok. here is the missing piece.

assign a shader to your blobbies and rename it blobbySG, eg. in the hypershade drag the blobbySG in the work area of the hypershade. in the left bar scroll down to "particle Utilities" and select the particleSampler. plug the sampler into the color of the blobbySG.

Ok, thats it.

Greets,
