Disappearing text.

Ok. This is really pissing me and my bud off. I am at his house checking out Maya 5. When we make some text, Bevel it out, delete the curves, combine the polygons and save and then open the scene again the text is gone. It still shows up in the outliner, but it cannot be seen and it says it is visible. I hit the f key and it focuses on nothing. Why does the text disappear???

Try deleting the history before you delete the curves.

Just a thought, I don't have Maya 5.
