Hey,

What i did was create a sphere and acale big enough for your model to fit in.
There are a few extra tools needed to convert HDR to MAP file called HDRTOXSI (weird but it works).

Create a Lambert

Create surface shader and attach it to the color of the lambert.

in the Attribute edi. go to the surface shader and and attach a file to the out color.

file you want to add is the MAP file you created.

you may have to adjust the color balance of the file.

finally MR......

These are the setting I used. You may need to adjust.

Ray Tracing..
max refl rays...= 12
max refl rays...= 12
max ray depth...= 18

Final Gathering..
Final Gath rays... 650
min r...1
max r...10
Min samples..0
Max samples..2

Did not use any final gathering. Delete the default light.

hope this is useful!!

Wow... I've missed this thread entirely. Looks really pretty... A bit of "filter ringing" goin on back of the table. I don't know what's the correct term for it (moire?) but you can see it where those straight stripes starts to get distorted...

Fixed the wood grain of the table. another thing i noticed was the top of the XBOX has a few lines that only show during render. have no idea what they are.

The modeling is fine but I guess the black plastic is too reflective. The whole image would benefit from more contrast.

This will be my last post for the XBOX. Have played around with HDR enough on this image.. Time to move on. Have to figure out what to create next.

why mess with the contrast, just adjust the reflectivity setting on the shader for the xbox itself.

btw... Looks Great!

If it can't be fixed with duct tape and a hammer, it isn't worth being fixed... Unless it's my computer.

Well I decided to make the controller. Here is a shot. I'm getting to much reflectvity on the xbox and controller....it is way to shinny. Any ideas people?

The controller looks ok but the ends are very pointy.. look at this:
user added image

EDIT: Another thing, if you look, the controller is way too small compared to the xbox itself.. the ration is too big between them...
