Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

finaly a new WIP

Febuary was a slow month for me. March took off ok but has really slowed down. So theres been almost nothing coming out of the Maya machine.

Hope you like this. It is the core for a bomb/missile im making. (Not in real life) I had my computer render 199 frames of this, (moving) Took 10 hours due to GI_Joe and huge Raytracing.

Please share your thoughts.

One question... why Raytracing? I thought Raytracing was uses for sufraces like Glass and other shiny stuff... user added image

With out GI_Joe, you can see that the blue balls are glass. GI_Joe has a built in blue light, that when combined with the blue color of the 'glass' balls, takes away the effect. I would still like to know what Emo and others have to say.

Thanks.

I was just trying to point out that if you can't see the glass effect of the balls, why do Raytrace and wait 10 hours?...

I dont know how it would look without Raytracing but that was just my suggestion

LOL

glad u pointed that out

Cant believe it has taken so long to render when ur using GI_Joe rather than Mental Ray...

Looking very good tho I may add. Keep it up! user added image

btw try using a phong shader with a tiny bit of glow instead of raytracing.

Looks good. You can adjust the color of the light in GI_Joe to whatever you want. That could give your blue spheres more of a look of what you want and give the ray-tracing effect a better visual.
