thought about the broom you could create some curves and apply some paint fx or just textures

If your using Maya Unlimited you might be able to make the bristles of the broom using some skillfully adjusted fur.
Otherwise you could just 'roughen' the whole thing up a bit and add some bent bristles in photoshop after rendering.

Wow, amazing. the only thing i was thinking was making a path in the snow from where he came from (the burning village):p .. but i dont know. that might just make it look kinda weird.

Okay forgot to resize the pic! And though it's all done today here it is the right size!
Also I've only used Maya for about 6 months so I don't know if I'm still a newbie or not... guess I know the ropes but not everything! Anyways here is the right final post!
