Complex UV Layout in Maya

Paint effects

Hi there im facing a problem with this, never used it before so i may need some help to understand it. user added image

Im using artisan when im painting the head the oragen also appears in the other part of the body.
Second in the top of the biku is with stripes no smooth as the side.

Why this hapens ?

You need to UV map the model. At the moment, the body is using the same UV space as the beak, so the texture shows up down there.

The same problem with the stripes on top of the beak, the UV's there are probably overlapped or need to be straightened out.

I'll move this to the texturing forum. Also, I'll rename your thread, since it's not Paint FX that you are using, but the 3D Paint Tool. user added image

Well said Mike... You have to make sure the models UVs are flat to get the best results for Maya Paint.....

ok guys thanks im gona brake mt met apart in low polly and asigne a texture to each part an d the paint it corrrect ?

No, you need to UV map the model. Breaking it apart won't change that.

so... let me see if i understood

i asgned a simgle shader do the model and the file texture, so now i just need to aply the texture to the body, right!! and after it no problem ...
