Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Ok did some intakes and exhausts...having trouble with MR and some ghost geo...cant find it. I really dont know if I need to add more to this.....not much a boat really needs....I think I have it covered. Panel details etc would be covered in the textures I would think? no need for rivets and panel lines in the geo....Im already bloated poly wise...LOL

Well, it is a modeling comp, and detail is just as important as the basic design is. So the more you put into it, the better the chance of winning IMO. Experiment with some stuff and see what adds more to your boat. I have changed some stuff on my spinner that looked good on paper but sucked as a real model.

Yeh true mate...modelling it is but I guess I had my thoughts on if it was that kind of stuff would be textured...hmmmmmm I guess poly count is not an issue...but with a mono-hull boat there really arent a lot of bits are there THX....maybe some hinges on the cockpit...and the rear bonnet...hhhmmmmmmm I shall ponder

LOL thanks Jay....not fussed mate....carrying on.

Now can I get some help here...I have done the central buckle device..Im not sure how to do the belt. I will do the anchor points...not a problem....I was thinking just an extrusion of a rectangle...subs to suit....then using maybe dynamics to get it to 'flop' onto the seat..then delete history??? any takers? I will of course detach the buckles and parent to each belt then use a gravity field to affect them.

cheers bulletuser added image

EDIT: I think I figured it out....ncloth...point constraint.....dynamics.........solved...I hope...

I just would model from a reference pic, but thats just me, but using real world physics is a good idea also.
