What makes Maya better than 3Dsmax?

Not another thread on this...

Do a search and youll find that no one ever agrees on whats better, who cares anyway, if you use max you use it, if you use maya you use it they both do the same job and are now under the same company.

Autodesk changed a lot inside Maya with the 8-release.

The tools were moved all over the place... hell polygons has its own menubar now.

However they also fixed almost all of the polygon bugs... I don't even have the booleans bug anymore, even on a Maya 6 file I openned in Maya 8 which (in Maya 6) had the booleans bug.

On the discouraging side though, it feel a LOT more like Max than it used to (ex: create a polygon cube... you drag the base and pull the height versus Maya 6 getting a 1x1x1 cube and scaling it yourself)... but its still Maya in the core... possibly the golden version of Maya. (Then again that usually means a dark age is impending :p)

Well, I just began using 3D programs so I'd rather choose to improve in one before I get used to another.
From my short experience, 3Dsmax seems more complicated.
Maya I think is more flexible.

Why is Max better than Maya? Becuase Max is made by people who are like Microsoft. They don't care how well it performs, how powerful it is, how realistic is the render engine or anything to do with quality.

Maya is (was) made by people who cared about what they were making. Plus Alias won an academy award. Don't think any of the qualities that made them win still exist in Maya 8. Anyone know what happed to the stature? Did Autodesk melt it?

In simple terms, Maya = Good, Max = Evil. Since good usually triumphs over evil, therefore Maya is better... I've been watching too many movies.

Next time, retain yourself or I'll say something mean about that flat faced, beefy head, demon with serious lack of symmetry reluctant to display itself in yur avatar.

Hyper, before dissing Vlads model I'd look at his previous models, clearly this is how he wanted it to turn out as his skills are far superior to most I've seen posted here! Not that he needs me to fight his battles. user added image
