Maya requires OpenGL version 1.1...

hey there. i am getting error messages when i try to open maya 8. the output window shows:

wglCreateContext failed, Error code = -1073283072

and the script editor shows: // Warning: Maya requires OpenGL version 1.1, and your system is running version 1.0. Please contact your hardware vendor for an updated driver. Maya will continue to run, but some features may not work properly. //
// Error: //
// Error: Fur::executeCommand MayaState: (kFailure): Unexpected Internal Failure //
// Error: initializePlugin function failed (Fur) //
// Error: Object not found: //
updateRendererUI;
// Error: Object not found: mainRenderMenu //

i am an 11 year maya user and have never had a problem installing or using. any help would mean the world. thanks.

Did you get any errors like this with Maya 8 before? I would try the drivers again, but this time uninstall your old ones first before trying the new one and see if it helps.
