puppy trouble!

I am trying to connect the different parts of the dog in the cartoon dog tutorial. When I click on the booleans union tool, the dog disappears! What should i do?

listen to the tutorial a bit more cause kurt has the same problem later and tells u how to do it. he has it connecting the back leg.

umm isn't boolean not a bit quircky to attach an arm or a leg ?

Can be if its a bit complex, but if its a simple model its a great time saver.
