my two left feet (or boots in this case)

so I'm very new to Maya (with some 3d Studio Max experience)

I've modeled a boot (it's a start of a character... yes... I started with the boots)

problem is that it's made of many different parts, and I don't know how to group them together so that I can copy the left boot, mirror it, and make it a right boot.

I imagine that I would have to do so in any case to animate it, also.

I know it's a really basic question... but I'm lost.

any help, or pointers towards good tutorials would be very appreciated!!!

to create a mirror image go to edit->duplicate then in the X scale (or whatever direction you want the mirror) change it to -1 then duplicate.

They do look rather good! What settings did you use to smooth the model?
