Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

distributed rendering problem

I'm not much of a network guy so when I tried to set up maya 7 to network render with mental ray stand alone 3.4.5 I couldn't get it to work. I followed the instructions but, to be honest, some of them didn't make sense to me.

Does anyone know how to set up maya as the master and mental ray stand alone (on a different machine) as a slave.

Mental Ray stand alone seems to be installed correctly. The licence server says it's running.

I have created the files that I was told to create for each machine.

When I batch render then read the render info, there is no sign that maya has seen or even looked for network rendering.

Can someone break it down so that even a network nitwit like me can understand?
