Basic snake!

hey all! i am wanting to animate a very very very simple looking snake along a motion path! does anyone have any ideas how this can be done easily. I was hoping to avoid rigging the snake and animating each bit!............its for an animatic so im not too botherd about it look good!

You coluld use maya hair for it.
