In order to save A|W from being bought out by Apple, maybe we all need to get together and purchase shares collectively. If half the board puts in enough for like 5 shares...it would at least make a statement from the user community.

Hmm, I believe it´s quite a noble idea moocow, but unfortunately I don´t have any money ..

Prefer to send it to Italy, my family´s over there ... and uhh, well with the quake and thing .. we´re sending some money and clothes .. so they can send it to the people ..

it wouldn't be for another 6 months or so, when everyone's scraped up some extra cash and picked someone to handle the whole thing (i nominate kevin if he's interested, seeing as how he's a pretty trustworthy guy).

i can personally input all member data into spreadsheets (who puts in how much $, date, payment type, all contact info)...it would be freely available to anyone who asks (good way of backing up data, hehe). and hell, i'll personally pay for the monthly charge on the new bank account.

come on guys, 25 shares is only $20. it isn't a whole lot...you guys can get that together by next may, right?

if we have enough takers, then kev, we'll have to get together and meet up with the presidents of SGI and A|W sometime. i don't mind going to london if they don't.

I mean, 100K is almost nothing compared to a such a big company don´t you think?

Well, anyway, If I do have the money, and there´s a chance at it, I´ll do it ... but it does seem somewhat pointless.

Whoops, soory folks, my girlfriend just saw me write that, so I'm now only in for 20 shares user added image

I'm getting more for me and her in case sgi turns around.

Once Maya gets native GI/HDRI and/or comes COMPLETE with Mental Ray, AND cures all of their PFX, modeling, and particle animation issues, sgi should go up again.... a little user added image
