Yeah you do get that feeling, but the model itself is just ... wow.

Thanks

Yes, he's floating. Couldn't find better background image. There's a bit of perspective mismatch... Maybe I could try to paint some grass in front of his legs...

yeah he looks great but the BG is really throwing it off. Also he need to make a depression in the grass so you're right maybe just putting some grass in around his feet (possibly make the shadow a little darker too user added image)

Updated the image. Painted few strands around his legs and tail and made the ground shadow a bit darker and sharper (it's fake btw user added image). I think I'll have to do the BG in CG in order to make it any better. Maybe some day user added image

Maybe you could change the background so its getting dark/night time, dam fine modelling/texturing job there m8.

Does the body seem a bit thin though or is that just me? generally they are quite plump i thought but then i could be talking absolute rubbish - it happens a lot!!! user added image

Thanks. Not really sure what to do with him yet. Whatever it is it has to wait. Got some other baits in the sea atm user added image

Dunno... I took some artistic liberties while modeling this so technically it's not even close to a real Iguana user added image

Hey KB

This is really nice work. As to the comment of 'floating' I think it could be cured with a back light and a bit more specular coming off the back as its shadow is directly beneath it, then it should fit in the pic even better than it is now...

Thanks, I'll try it if I decide to tweak it some day!
