Character Test (Meatshake)

I've got a couple of videos of a character I'm working on for an animation I'm producing.

The first is just a rotation to show the character.

The second is a rough test animation, just to to see if everything is working OK. I'm not bothererd about the quality of the animation (which is rubbish), but if anyone can spot any problems and how to fix them I'd appreciate it.

The only major one I can see is the deformation around the armpits. How can I fix this?

Also, his feet are actually stationary on the "ground" (apart from when they lift up, if you see what I mean). There's a small camera pan/rotation which makes him look like he's sliding around, as the floor and the backbround look like the same thing.

Any comments welcome!
