Hello mmoore,

it's difficult/impossible to see where the mesh has gone wrong when it's shaded but if you turn on border edges (display/polygon components/border edges) and delete the unwanted face/faces you should be able to merge the remaining vertices or use the append polygon tool to sort out the problem.

hope this helps,

Mat.

okay got it thanks Mat

i seen the vertics and finally just blew out all them in that one spot and then look at vertices face and everything was seperated again.

one huge question i cant get answered. If i have a polygon and i move one vertice there is another one that is left ..is that normal ? here is a pic

i just moved two vertices and do you see the other lines still left behind ? is that normal . i didnt do the square and pick it . i just click the mouse on the vertix . am I doing it wrong ?

I get the impression that 'keep faces together' (in polygons -> tool options) wasn't on when you extruded the faces. If it wasn't then turn it on (so it doesn't happen again) and use the merge edges tool to join all the separate edges back up.
Either that or it is just a random vertice left along an edge. If so then use edit polygons -> delete vertice.

Looking good by the way user added image

Two things I might try is

1) deleting the history before hand and seeing if that makes a difference or

2) Click Extrude face, but instead of using the manipulator they give you, press W and see if that work better.

thanks for all your help. I have gotten this far ...having some issues duplicating one side but working on that . The vertices i had to delete in one whole area and it fixed itself. wooho ..here is an update. I am happy with overall shape. Any C and C is always appreciated.

Tim , what does the W do ? i didnt see it do anything ?

tick135 , merge edge tools ? i have to look that one up . Not sure how to use it . But like i said the delete vertices worked hehhe then I went to vertices face and seen that spot was at the correct shape then

here is an update. Now how to work in the details.

here is a back view

Well all the W button does it just change the manipulator rather than the one you get when you click extrude face.

Well as far as I can see it's looking pretty spot on. Just a case of adding on the detail and other bits.
