Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Well I suppose you'd need a shader with transparency and reflectivity, such as a blinn or phong... Just play around with the settings or do a google for "maya glass" or something like that... You could also have a look at www.learning-maya.com and see if there's a glass shader tutorial there

A shader that adds realism to a glass object is a Fresnel Shader...not sure where it's located in Maya but every 3d App has one.
