This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with
complex objects.
Actually, it's pretty easy to make holes in polys too. just stick whatever shape you want the hole to be so it intersects your model, and do a boolean subtract.
also, you might want to use a blendshape to melt a vase. just a thought...
