TYRE BUMP MAP

I've made a tread which im wrapping upon my tyre with a blinn bump map, but get weird results, such as the ends stretching to join up. How do i get the ends to meet nicely? I thought i had it sussed, but apparently not. And the bump is also appearing on the inside wall of the tyre as well!

regards

Make sure the UVs are mapped correctly.
For the bumps to appear only on the surface the tire needs to have actual volume, and the bump map should be placed over the part that should be bumpy.

Sure, here is the PEG. As you can see, its all over the place like a mad women's vomit - otherwise the tread goes alright. Any help or top-tips appreciated.

You probably didn't map the UVs properly. Look for some UV mapping tuts. For this shape you should probably go with automatic mapping - works for almost every shape.
