From a readers' Q and A column in TV GUIDE: "If we get involved in a nuclear war, would the electromagnetic pulses from exploding bombs damage my videotapes?"

Aren't there laws against monopolies? Argg. Figures that 3DStudio Max would do a hostile takeover...

Or does Autodesk no longer own 3DStudio Max?

Sigh... I guess in the end its the market place speaking.. if Alias were doing fine on its own it never would have accepted the offer.

I wouldn't be too concerned with it. Both products will stay the same. Maya will stay Maya and Max will stay Max. Just better intergration between the 2.

Certain irony in the fact that Maya just purchased Kaydara for the FBX pluggin to transfer between the two of them.

Yeah, I believe anything new in the future wont have FBX, but you will still need it for all the current stuff, unless a special plugin is made to replace it, but FBX support still might extist for all older versions. In general, it will be intresting to see what kind of intergation their going to come up with since MAX is a Windows only platform.
