This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Willy's mercantile

One of the few western things I’m working on at the moment. After getting back from some ghost towns I’ve visited on my vacation, I was inspired by some of the buildings and objects that I have seen.

I like it!

The scale is a bit off in some places and the window textures are a bit repetitive. It's also pretty clean overall, geometry-wise, I mean. The textures have grime in them, but the model itself is pristine.

Good work! I could see something like this in a western game . user added image

Wow,, thanks for the complement,, yea the scale on the stair case is a bit wide but I was kind of going for character in certain places. I googled the free textures and tried my hand at ageing it up a little. I think Ill redo the windows,, maybe I should of put it in WIP user added image

I like this a lot, the western buildings are cool. It'd be awesome to see an entire western downtown area..

Last verson 1.2 hehe.

Just tighten up a few things and shrunk down some things.

I know this is the finished work part of the forums, but some times you can look at something for so long and it looks done. But that moment some one gives a comment about it, you look at it differently

Very very nice. The middle roof intrigues me and looks very good I think. Modeled it (ie the tiles) or is it paint and bump map?

Thanks. it's all model out for right now, latter I'm going to make it a normal map, when I complete the town I'm doing. I should have some screen shots up in a day or 2.
