boolean-->difference deletes whole polygon?

Hmm. for some reason, when I do a boolean difference, the first polygon I click (the one I want cut) completely gets fully deleted.

Any explanation to this?

edit: Nevermind, found out the answer. Ignore this thread, yo!

Using booleans works well, but it also works really badly too.

Ensure both objects are intersecting correctly and that both objects are closed, open faced objets do not boolean well, last but not least, delete the history.
