TGA Alpha Channels

Hey just getting some Image Planes setup thanks to Mikes Image Plane Video Tutorial. I have a problem though. When I go to save it as a Targa file it doens't give me the option to save the Alpha channel with it. Only with BMP's does it allow me to do this. Any ideas how I could get it to save the alpha channel in Targa format? Thanks.

I've had a lot of feedback regarding this change in Photoshop 7. I'm currently using Photoshop 6. I'm not positive, but I believe Maya 5 is supposed to be able to automatically apply the tga's alpha channel as a transparancy map for your material.

I'm using Maya 4.5, and instead of creating a transparancy map with the alpha, it uses it to clip out the image plane.

I'm not really sure of a way around it in 5.0. Just remember that having the image plane clipped out does not affect your ability to use the Image Plane as a reference!
