best place to install maya

I got 2 different drives and I'm thinking wether or not I should install maya on the windows XP drive or should I put it on the seperate drive .

I've had people tell me its best to keep windows on only one drive but wouldn't it reduce performance if maya had to work with the windows drive for video drivers and then back?

please let me know what u guys think.

leave the drive with windows on completely empty

use the second drive for all programs and files

this will keep the speed of the computer better
and the performance of maya or other progs will be better

Now at SMU doing BSc 3D Computer Animation so its hard to get on here
