Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 1
This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Glass Render Prob.

I was just playing with different textures. And this happened.

Why does the texture on the table stand not render thru the glass? The floor renders, but just not the stand.

BTW, the stand shader is a silver shader from highend3d.com

could you attach your scene file? it's hard to recog nize if it is a raytracing problem or something else.

maybe your refraction for your glass material is low, try to set it to 6 or above, light should bounce 6 times or more in order for you to see the transparency of the base of your glass.

yes i am. That's what i figured.

The only other version I have is 4.5 PLE, but the PLE's won't work in full versions. (so i've heard)

Well, I 've playing with the refraction levels on the texture and the reder global settings, but nothing is making a difference.

I could just send the shaders and maybe that will work. I can give the settings that I have.

I used a different texture for the base and it came out fine. So now i think its all in the silver shader used for the base.
