Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Revolve-Tool

I'm taking this tutorial right now: StarWars Walker , and I'm at the point where I will be making the first knee. It says that I shall build a CV Curve and then use Surfaces > Revolve, but I just get this result everytime I do that:

What have I done wrong?

I am not sure exactly what you need, because the link didn't work. I think what you are talking about is surfaces>revolve If so go to the revolve option box and change the Axis Preset to Y. If that doest work then try X or Z. Hope this helps.

I've already tried that. But here's the link: StarWars Walker

Did a little mistake in the URL-tag user added image

Camtasia experiment

Sorry do dredge up an old post, but I didn't want to start a new one on a related topic. Here is a lesson (not really a tutorial) I made on the revolve tool. https://www.artildawn.com/video_tutor...bs-revolve.avi
The file is around 47 mb. I'm still working on getting the best file size to movie size to compression ratio. It is recover at 1024x768 so it is a large screen image... consider yourself warned. If you're a noob, I ask that you check it out and let me know if it is helpful. What is good or bad about it (besides the file size)?
