RollerToy

This is a simple model I am creating to practice small animations with! As you can see its basic (but not completed). I haven't been posting much because of school... But i managed to get this done in a couple hours! It will roll forward and backward on the center ball, and turn using its arms. I have not yet thought of what to do with the eyes. C & C welcome!

I love it!!

Very Outside the box in terms of thinking here. I thrive on this type of stuff. My crit atm is to add some more detail on the hands, arms and the neck 'brace'

Thanks Jay, Laurie, ctbram and starjsjswars! Ive added a couple more braces onto the neck, and put a couple things on the arms but im drawing a blank right now... I cant think what to add onto the hands or anything more to the arms. I haven't really thought about the eyes much yet. If you have any suggestions on what to add id be very appreciative! im rendering in Maya software.

Maybe the eyes could be like camera appatures , it could give you some setdriven key practice too.

I may add a couple more things, but I think its ready! I don't want to complicate it too much and i dont know how I would go in making an aperture like movement. Ive settled with a nice basic eye, multi lens thing! I dont know where I would start in making a rig for this, are there any tutorials for this? Help would be great! I usually just animate by messing around with groups but i want to do this one right!

I really like this thing, it's a cool idea. My only thought is how does it not fall over? I know it's just for animation practice but just curious.
I think there are tutorials on rigging car tires somewhere online, I know I ran across them. I don't know if maybe you would use the same method to animate the ball spinning.
