You should be pleased ben...I like your model a lot!!!!! It reminds me of the 70's (yes Im old) and the toys/creatures you used to be able to buy!!! Or as a design on a t-shirt!!

Yeh I will probably take daves advice and just do the model in Maya and learn the fur/bump maps etc. Im getting really used to UV maps now...I think about it more than before and placement etc.

thanks dave

you are all really too kind. (not that I mind!! I get disallusioned pretty quick)

Try to keep the edge that cuts the fingers in half (top/bottom) flowing through the thumb too.

This will help out a heck of a lot when UV mapping and texturing.

Hi Bullet,

No not that edge, have a look at the image below, the highlighted edge, see how the edge flows round the hand, so if you cut along that edge and flatten it you have a nice even seam with shells that have the top of the hand and the bottom, making it easier to texture and disguise the seam.

Well Im not senile...BUT how the f**k am I going to fix that...thanks steve...I meant that sincerely mate. F**k I hate it when I do simple things like that..not thinking of UV's..I thought I had that firmly auto reflex by now...oh well...I will have to change the geo some how. Damn I do this all day at work (Surveying wise) I really get annoyed when I do it myself.....thanks again steve.

Yeah, Looks good so far. I would reattach the thumb as said. But nice to see you tackling problems head on... if everything went to plan, there would be no need to be creative.

Oh remember the slide edge tool for making those topology adjustments without buggering up the surface flow after the reattach.
