Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Id love to make some sketches if that could help.

I just love skecthing spacecraft!

If this is of interest to you, please tell me about the general mood of the spacecraft and such.

Like space-travel philosophy, if any, functionality, or other aspirations.

I cannot promise you anything but Id like to give it a try if you dont mind sketches and general ideas.

Well right now i'm just doing some reserching and planning how I'm going to code the engine.

I already got the name of the game, "Colonial Starfighter".

So I was thinking maybe a border world thing...

As you can tell i'm still working on the design doc so an comments or suggestions would be great.

Ok, I've been looking around and I want the fighters to follow the same sort of style as modern conventional fighter aircraft. Althought keep in mind that since this is space the wings of the fighters don't need to have the same limits since thier main purpose is a place for the guns, cannons, fuel pods and missles to attach. Or you don't even need to have wings and just have everything internal.

Take this F-22 for example...

Ok, maybe change the shape of the wings becuase they don't have to be really aerodynamic, chop off the tail flaps, maybe mirror the tail rudders to the under side of the fighter and attach a gun on the end of each of the now 4 tails rudders, also we don't need jet intakes, ect... Use your imagination really.

Also don't model any of the armament or fuel pods, there are modelled seperately and attached later in gameplay. Although you can model the places where these things attach to the fighter.

Few more pictures:
