This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Turn off Uv Texture repeat???

ok, say i want to write drknow on a cube. I have a cool picture with my name in the center. It is a perfect square btw. I have my cube auto unwrapped to fit the image perfectly, but it is written on every face. I know i could just manipulate uvs, but I want to keep a clean unwrap. I could also put my name on a huge canvas, but I want to keep the image size down. I would prefer to just be able to turn off the repeating of my image. I dont know if it is possible or if there is a better way to go about this, but any help would be appreciated.

Select only the face that should have the picture applied, apply your material (with the image) and make a planar projection upon that face.

Ok, that works, but what if I have a sphere and I only want it to show up once.

also, you could in the 2d placement node of your texture, turn off Wrap U and wrap V.
