Rendering problem.

I have going through the Digital-Tutors maya basic disk where you model a space craft. When I render it from the rear the cab of the pod appears translucent and the flame from the engine and the lightning bolt shines through to body of the pod. I have been looking all over the place in the attributes editor and I can't find a thing. Here is a pic of the model. . And a pic of the problem.

Thanks for any help.

That looks like a very strange problem.

Have you tried making a new material and applying it to the model?

Cheers,
Chris

you mean a texture map?

perhaps when you mapped the file to the colour it mapped itself to colour and transparency

right click the model and go to Material Attributes...
in the attribute editor make sure nothing is plugged into the transparency

if it is then right click on the word transparency and select break connection

as shown in the attached picture
