bookshelf modeling primarily texturing

i want to model and texture a bookshelf...

the shelf should not be a problem ... but the books ....

should i model the books seperated or just a cube with a texture?

If they're not going to be the focus of any shots I'm sure you could use a couple blocks and a few individual ones that lean, just for a little irregularity. as far as book covers go, you can google "book jacket covers" or something like that, or even slap up a couple quick ones in Photoshop.
