Glass Rose

Hey All,

I've been away for a long time, because I didn't have much time for 3d modeling. Now I've got a new computer and I just installed Maya 2008 and I am thinking about starting a new project.

I'm thinking about creating a glass rose, that falls to the ground and shatters into a million pieces, and I want to have those pieces fall in a way to spell out a word, or a sentence.

What would be the best way to go about doing this, what programs should I use, and what way would give the most lifelike results?

Thanks on forehand,

Silver

Hi a suggestion for the spelling out of a word would be to instance the shattered pieces onto particles with a goal to an invisible text curve.
Im not sure how to get an effective transition from the shattering of the glass to the particles though without a camera cut so you dont notice.
