Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

UFO composite (Does it look real?)

One of my friends asked me if it was possible to fake UFO photos similar to the ones in 1940-1960 (grayscale, old photos) that many say is evidence that they exist. I gave it a try on his request, and I am pretty pleased with the results.
What do you think?

a bigger copy would be nice, but from what I can see it doesn't look too real. Of course I am like the worlds biggest skeptic, haha. It is certainly a nice attempt though, and I am sure some people would believe it user added image

Sorry, Can't give you a bigger version at the moment (it would be pixelated)
I'll render one though in a few hours.

Btw, I sent it to a friend, and he was like: "Ahm...this is not real.....is it? *Then he started shivering, lol!*" ! Haha, I wish I could have video-taped him! user added image
Still, he believes basically everything you tell him.

yeah, i have to agree with Joopson, its not big enough

but maybe pictures back then were that small anyway...

although i'm not a skeptic like Joopson. i've no reason to or not to believe

i also remember seeing a thread on cg forums about making a hoax like this. someone suggested that cg is a way for aliens to cover up thier tracks and bring skepticism among people. And it's getting more and more realistic so when they do invade and kill and destroy everyone will think it's all cg :puser added image

Been watching too much X-Files lately? .... I have user added image

It looks pretty good at the low resolution, but We'll have to see it at full scale to be able to really judge it.

HA! Chirone: Thats just funny. Aliens invented CG to cover they're tracks, LOL Would love to read the original thread.

Oh, and now that I have you both cornered.... what happened with the Tank comp?

Lol!
Anyway, i think I use too much motion blur, so it dosen'tt look too sharp. BTW, is this big enough? The size is so small to make i harder to tell that it is fake.

WAA cornered!! user added image

cornered animals are dangerous!! but... i'm not an animal so you're safe... maybe...

... ok, back on topic
i think the UFO looks ok, but usually in the shots with UFOs the whole thing is dark and black. I thought it looked a bit odd in the small picture since it looked like a disk with a bit of light colour

tbh, i dont see enough UFOs to tell if that looks real or not :p

and here's the link to the CG thread:
https://forums.cgsociety.org/showthre...highlight=hoax

the post that i referenced is 12th from the top from kelgy on the second page, i think i did an old person thing and twisted/added words when repeating what it said due to crap memory :p

also 4th from the top on the second page from mobious is a funny post... i think he's right too

and about the tank battle... i'm still working on it... i haven't progressed from the first picture of it. but it's still going... and same with the summer challenge...

Very nice composite amoeba! It looks very believable!

I have seen what I believe to be UFO's on a couple on instances. I saw a couple of bright lights hovering over an air force base back in 96 or 97. My local News station reported the incident the next day but no one ever followed up on it again. The second time was December of last year. I saw a grouping of bright lights for a few minuets. They disappeared as fast as they appeared. Both incidences occurred during the day.

Wether you believe in them or not, UFO's are a vary interesting subject to research. I have seen some pretty convincing documentary's and testimonials on them.
