Giving more power to Maya

Hi, I'm not that experienced with computer settings etc. So I wonder if there is a way to focus performance to only Maya. Both outside and inside Maya tips are welcome. user added image

in windows task mnager (ctrl+alt+del) find maya.exe and right click and set piority to high or higher so more of the processor power is used on it thant other background progs


Now at SMU doing BSc 3D Computer Animation so its hard to get on here

also disconnect from the net and turn off norton or equiv program
those fire walls and anti -v are massive power hogs
