attach multiple fur descriptions to poly?

Is it possible to attach multiple fur descriptions to poly? The reason I want to do this, is because I have a character who has a head of hair and a mustache. I know I can do that with just one bald map, however, the reason that I want to separate them, is because I want to animate the mustache when the character talks.
If this is not possible, then anybody have a better idea of how to make an "animatable" mustache.

Thanks.

hey great idea! I just duplicated the head which the fur was attatched to, and then attatched the other fur description to that. I could probably delete most of the duplicated poly, since there right on top of each other (if it would speed up the rendering time at all).
