well the helmet was subd but I went with polys - everything is polys - I occasionally do use subds but convert back to polys after a while

started to add details onto the shoulder pad area,

image - having hassles uploading pics - they get corrupted user added image the images I am trying to upload are only 10k ish in size

Nice sholder shield, jeah i also mostley use polys but i never convert to sub-d, doo you convert your model to sub-d and back many times or just one time???

ank... it varies the number of times I convert to subds and back again - just depends if i think it will improve the model or not - doesn't always work either!!!

here is the final (not final textures) shoulder pad model

Very nice !! user added image hands look a bit big or is it just the perspective.

yeah I just looked and they are def to big user added image cheers for spotting that. i guess you look at things so much you miss things like that!!

Looks like a fun job!! Nice armour!!


As for switching between SD and poly you can do it all the time, I just pop the level to zero and the button on vertices, takes you stright back to your base mesh every time.

nah Ank, it isn't finished yet, got a fair bit to do yet. Have to rig it and create some pose for final shot

this is pretty much the finished upper half model, got to add teeth and change the facial expression - now got to rig it user added image and texture it better.

Jango - yeah this is the first model I have done in ages, got my appetite back user added image

cheers for the sub-d thing - I have yet to really get to grips with sub-ds - but it seems like it's the future user added image
