Duplicate Problem.

i created half of a car tire rim.......and then duplicated it to become on full rim tht was perfect the rim also turned out to be great but when appling textures the texture works on one half and not on the other........like when i click on one both get selected but when i apply a texture it only applies on the orignal one even though i select the duplicate one and apply on the dulicate.....assistance needed and would be appreciated. Thank you

delete the history and make sure that the instance has uvs or it wont take the texture. You can also combine the objects together to get one mesh and then delete the history that might help.
