Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Maya 6.0 and 6.5 CPU Maxed out when clicking isoparm

I'm having this strange problem. I've just started working with NURBS (I'd always used SubD and polys in the past). Anyway, when I click over to ISOPARM and click an ISOPARM and accidentally click just above or below that ISOPARM - the Maya process will consume 99% of the CPU. This will stay tapped out for quite some time. (In fact, I've never had the patience to see exactly how long it stays at 99%).
I'm using Win XP Home SP2.
Anyone else encounter this problem and hopefully have a solution?

Thanks,
MD Modeler

Check the maya compatibility page for your video card. This hanging or in some cases crashing is usually caused by an overlay problem. You maybe able to fix with driver update or possibly a driver roll back to an older version.

Thanks for the feedback. I thought along the same lines that it might be a driver problem. I was retracing the items installed on my workstation right before this started happening. There was one of those "automated" Win XP updates. I'm still researching. I'll let the forum know what I find.
