Problems with unions!

Hi

I am a new user to maya and i'm trying to teach myself!

I have been following the dog model tutorial from the free modelling videos and i have stumbled across a problem... When i try to make a union between the head and body, they disappear user added image

Maybe this is a really simple problem but i can't solve i!

Can anyone help me??

I believe this happens because the objects aren't intersecting properly. Try making sure that the neck ends inside the body. Just move the bottom verts of the neck down a bit.
