Default Is it possible to import a movie?

i got a question that i cant figure out
is it possible to somehow import a movie, an avi for example, and put it on the surface of a plane or something and then get it to animate?

Sure, just apply a movie node to the color channel of your shader, point to an AVI, and be sure to check the "Use Image Sequence" check box.

Just that simple.

This is the first I heard about animated textures -- I know most NTSC film is 29.97 FPS, most video in computers is 30, and Maya's set to 24 FPS by default -- will framerate changes affect the videospeed too much?
